Rugged Buildings specializes in contract manufacturing for private labeling of herbal extraction equipment manufacturers that utilize hydrocarbon gases and solvents. As the herbal product industry grows, so do the regulations associated with it. 

Each Herbal Extraction Building manufactured by Rugged Buildings is individually engineered, based on your specific application, to meet or exceed all national and local code requirements in the jurisdiction in which the building is delivered. All buildings are FM-approved and all components are certified by a nationally recognized testing laboratory (NRTL).

We also offer a State Approval Program to guarantee compliance with the codes and regulations specific to your State. This additional attention to detail guarantees you receive a building that meets your needs as well as the requirements of the Local Authority Having Jurisdiction (LAHJ).

The legalization of cannabis has led to a dramatic increase in the production of oil extracts. This increase in production also requires an increase in solvents which are considered hazardous materials and are regulated by local and state authorities. Cannabis extraction typically includes the use of the following hazardous materials (Some of the national codes requiring compliance have also been listed for your reference):

Rugged Blast Resistant Buildings have exceptional designs intended for the harshest conditions utilizing guidelines published by the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) and the American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC). These guidelines provide in-depth procedures to ensure that your building is designed to resist blasts that are based on the blast type, building location, and magnitude of the blast. Rugged Building Services utilizes advanced 3D software to model the structure and apply the blast load to ensure the structural members are designed to resist the potential threat.

Our blast-resistant building is designed by our Structural Engineer using state-of-the-art design software for optimum strength of materials and calculated engineering designs for the protection of life and equipment in the blast zone area. For your safety, our unique design specifications are reviewed and approved by a 3rd party engineering firm assuring you the confidence that you will have the appropriate blast protection for your application. For the past 35 years, our manufacturing plant in Charleston Illinois has produced thousands of pre-engineered, pre-fabricated, transportable buildings used in various industries and militaries across the globe.

Rugged Blast Resistant Buildings are designed to meet the requirements of the International Building
Code (IBC), and the design loads as specified in the American Society of Civil Engineers “Minimum Design
Loads for Buildings and Other Structures (ASCE 7). The Rugged “Blast” Building designs are further reviewed
by an Independent 3rd party Engineering firm that will certify your building drawings providing state seal approval
in multiple states, giving you the most versatility for your fleet.

Each Rugged Blast Resistant Building complies with State Energy Codes designated in the State Seal Packages.
Rugged Buildings strives to preserve energy consumption by designing energy-efficient buildings regarding heating,
cooling, ventilating, and lighting.

Each Rugged Blast Resistant Building is compliant with the National Fire Protection Agency (NFPA) for fire protection, and the National Electrical Code (NEC) for electrical compliance. Every component installed on our Blast Buildings conforms to the Underwriters Laboratory (UL), Underwriters Laboratory of Canada (ULC), and/or the Canadian Standards Association (CSA).

Rugged Blast Resistant Buildings are continuously welded on structural members and exterior joints for maximum strength, and to keep foreign materials out. The Rugged Buildings manufacturing facility is certified by the American Welding Society (AWS) and the Canadian Welding Bureau (CWB).

Upon request, our Rugged Support Services Team will refer to the American Petroleum Institute Standard (APIS) RP 753 to assist you with locating and orientating your blast-resistant structure. Our Rugged Support Services Team can visit your site and provide technical expertise on how to minimize risks and hazards keeping your personnel and equipment safe.
